OFSTED Inspection June 2023

The school was inspected in June 2023 with a GOOD overall judgement. The previous inspection in  November 2019 the overall judgement was requires improvement. Since that time we have worked hard to make the improvements highlighted in the 2019 report.

The June inspection is a reflection of those improvements, where inspectors have noted our ambition for the children to do well. The redesigned curriculum  making reading, phonics and maths key priorities. The improvements to children’s attitudes to learning, which are strong in a calm and orderly environment helping them make good choices.

But there are improvements still to be made.

  1. Some foundation subjects need to refined in order to ensure our children can remember more.
  2.  Overall attendance is low when compared to schools nationally with our persistent absence (90% attendance or less) being high.

From September 2023 We will have a new Education Welfare Team working with us on a fortnightly basis. We will be able to offer more help and support to parents that need it but there will also be greater challenge when attendance is not improving as it should.
