We are ROARRing in Year 4!

In Year 4, we know that Parents/Carers are very important in ensuring that the children enjoy a successful learning experience.  We know that by working together we can equip our children with the skills, attitude and knowledge to make the most of their time with us.

Supporting your child with Reading, spellings and times tables are ways in which you can really help their progress.  Children are encouraged to read at home at least three times a week.  Spellings will be sent home on a Thursday and their test will take place the following week.

PE - These sessions will take place on a Monday and a Wednesday.  Please ensure that the children bring in something warm to wear on a Monday as PE will take place outside.

Save The World

During the Autumn term, our learning was centred around rainforests.  In English the children created leaflets, wrote a story, a poem and even sent an email to another member of staff based on our visit to the Eden Project.  The children also created fantastic Rainforests of their own (in a shoebox.)
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The children are enjoying learning about the Victorians.  They have already completed a fantastic playscript based upon our class novel 'Streetchild'. They will soon be writing a story, poems and newspaper reports!  They have learnt about Queen Victoria (The grandmother of Europe) and have researched topics such as: transport, clothing, education, employment, famous people and toys in the Victorian period.
