Reading books are changed when the children require it.
Children will be expected to read their book band least three times for them to be fluent and able to answer comprehension questions.

They will also take home a Reading for Pleasure book which they will take home and is used to share with someone in their family who will model reading aloud.
Homework

Children are expected to read as much as possible at home in order to build fluency and confidence.

Every term I will be sending home a Home Learning sheet which has a variety of options to explore over the term.

Children will get extra Golden Tickets for completed homework, reading etc.

Spellings will be sent out on a Monday ready for a spelling test on a Friday.
This Spring term our topic will be...

Brilliant Britain

To begin our topic we searched for clues around the classroom. We found strange pieces of a map. When we put them together they made a map of the United Kingdom. We will find out as many facts as we can about the countries of the UK.
The children, had written a fact file about our school and wanted and audience to share them with. We also wanted to explore our local area. We ended up at St Levan's Park where we met children from Drake Primary School and shared our Fact Files with them.
In English, we are reading the Flat Stanley Stories. In the story, Flat Stanley becomes a kite, so we followed instructions independently and created our own kites.
In DT, we are creating our own fabric Flat Stanley. We needed to practise connecting materials in different ways. So we collected a piece of material and practised using different ways of connecting.
