Welcome to Year 4!
Miss Jennings (class teacher)
Mrs Lewis (Class TA and ELSA)
Mr Twynam (teacher on a Thursday afternoon)
We are ROARRing in Year 4!
This means being Resilient, Open, Aspirational, Reflective and Resourceful in their learning both inside and outside of school. This will make them successful in what they try to achieve so give it a go at home and please tell us if your child has ROARRed by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org so I can celebrate this with them!
In Year 4, we are also positive role models to the younger members of the school!
We promote attitudes to be 'READY' to learn, 'RESPECTFUL' to everyone and 'SAFE' in our community.
Please do not hesitate to send an email to: email@example.com
In Year 4, we know that Parents/Carers are very important in ensuring that the children enjoy a successful learning experience. We know that by working together we can equip our children with the skills, attitude and knowledge to make the most of their time with us.
Supporting your child with Reading, spellings and times tables are ways in which you can really help their progress. Children are encouraged to read at home at least three times a week.
PE - These sessions will take place on a Wednesday and a Friday. Please ensure that the children wear their PE kit to school on these days.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
There are times when we all feel the strain and find things a bit of a challenge and that is ok! There are ways that we can support each other to give ourselves the best chance to stay mentally healthy.
Below are a number of very useful websites and resources that may help if you are feeling a little down or a need a little extra support so please feel free to use them but if you do have any questions or would like to talk about something bothering you, please do not hesitate to get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Useful Educational Websites
Please see the list of great educational resources that your children can use while at home! These are fun resources in which the children will often not feel that they are developing important educational skills so it really is a win-win if these are used!
Topic - Terrible Tudors.
During terms 5 and 6, the children will be learning all about 'Terrible Tudors'.
Throughout this exciting topic, the children will discover who the Tudors were and how they came to power. They will also learn about Henry VIII and his six wives, some of the most disgusting jobs in Tudor Times and crime and punishment in Tudor Times. The children will also discover the artist Holbein and sketch their version of Henry VIII!
We will also be having a very Royal Visitor - the children will create timelines, go on a treasure hunt and play Tudor games and Tudor card games!
English and Maths Resources
Below, you will find English and maths resources that the children can use to help develop their confidence and competence in the subject. If there are other resources that you would like me to add to this page, please do not hesitate to get in touch at email@example.com so I can upload them as soon as possible :)
