Term 1
Brilliant Britain
This term, our topic focus is  Brilliant Britain. We will be building on our knowledge of landmarks in Year 1 and we will be learning to locate London and other capital cities in the UK. We will learn about key landmarks in England, Northenr Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We will also learn about the 7 continents. We use this song to help us remember:
This term we are learning all about animals including humans. We will learn the lifecycle of a child, why exercise and healthy eating is important for humans, that all living things reproduce and why humans need to keep clean to remain healthy.
In computing this term we will be focussing on 'online safety'. We will talk about ways to remain safe online. This will include recognising our trusted adults who we can talk to when we are worried about what we see online.
In Art this term we are focussing on the technique of printing. We will be using different materials to create different effects. Such as: sponges, pieces of lego, plastic sticks and other classroom materials. We will then create our own Union Jack Flag using different printing techniques.
Please see the knowledge organiser below for more information on what your child will learn.
