Maths

This term year 3 will work on multiplication and division and fractions. They will use their prior learning of place value and multiplication facts to multiply and divide 2 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers.

English:

Our English units will incorporate a variety of high-quality texts that will inspire our writing. Following our 10 day cycle, Year 3 will use a range of features within their writing that match the genre. They will continue to use purple pen to edit and upskill their work independently.

History

Our new term focus will be on the Bronze and Iron ages. If you would like to explore this topic with your child at home, there are fantastic resources at this link on BBC bitesize. The class will learn about the developments in technology from the Stone Age to the Bronze and Iron ages, and will use this learning across the curriculum in different ways.

Things to remember each week...
  • PE is every Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate footwear and correct P.E kit on those days.

Please remember to practise your times tables on Times Table Rockstars using the link below:

Home learning expectations:

Children should read at least three times a week at home. This can be logged on BoomReader and celebrated at school. Each week children will have a set of 10 spelling words to practise and several arithmetic questions. They are free to bring their spelling books home with them to do this.
