School Council

'Because Pupil Voice Matters'
Pupil Voice is highly regarded within school.One of the ways pupils can express their ideas is via the School Council.
The School Council meet fortnightly to share and discuss ideas.
Each class in the School has at least one representative on our School Council. Every member has to be democratically voted in by their peers.
 Two children from our Reception class are our Eco- Councillors. Their job  is to empty recycling bins in each class and ensure that measures such as turning lights off are carried out.
The School Council aims to:
  • Involve pupils in making decisions about the running of the school;
  • Help make the school a safe, happy and fair place to learn;
  • Help teach pupils about democracy and good citizenship;
  • Work in partnership with all the adults to improve the school;
  • Help make decisions about how money could be spent;
  • Help arrange fundraising events;
  • make sure that every child can have their say
School Council Successes 2018 /19
During the Autumn Term Jorja -Rose entered a reading competition and won not only a prize for herself, but money for books for each class. Our School Council helped to select a group of books for each class.
In November we raised money for Children in Need by dressing up and covering a Pudsey Bear in Pennies for Pudsey. Well done and thank you to everyone who supported us.
As always our School Council are excellent role models to others in the school and they regularly welcome visitors.
